Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to All

We have one heck of a 2009!

Our little Addyson is almost 4 now. She is such a delight! She loves to be a little girl wear nothing but dresses and have her nails painted. She is getting smarter by the day! I sure enjoy spending the days with her while Ethan is at school.

Ethan is now in 1st grade he is reading like a champ! It amazes me at how smart he really is. I shouldn't say amazes me it scares me really he is just a great kid. He is growing so fast and learning so much I just wish the time would move slower! He loves to play the wii and any game he can think of.

I am working at the hospital in IF as a monitor tech. I work 3 nights a week. It is really nice to be able to get away but boy am I tired all the time. But it is worth that to only have to be away during the night when my children are asleep. I am still doing Photography I have my busy months and my slow months. I have stayed really busy during the holidays so that is really nice. I hope someday I can just do that full time.

Ryan boy o boy has he has a year. My sweet husband was a stay at home Dad for the most part this year. Just as he was getting things lined up to start up his own buisness again (he had several jobs lined up ready to go) he was in a bad accident. That happened in May and he broke his neck in to spots and broke his arm. He was layed up for nearly the entire summer. A neck brace kept him warm durnign to 100 degree weather. The good news about the neck was that he was able to get out of the brace nearly a month early. What a blessing as soon as he got out of the brace we took advantage of the situation. We took a couple of trips to Boise and played our hearts right out. It was alot of fun to celebrate his new freedom. He still hurts and we are told it will take a long time to start to feel better. We take it as is comes. After he broke his neck a realized that being a carpenter full time was not an option and that he needed more time to heal. He decided to return to school and go into the Desiel Program at ISU. We decided that would give him more skills and he would be able to take the time to heal. He has done really well and pulled straight A's for the semester. He did come down with Cellulitis in his leg a couple of weeks ago and has been down and out with IV antibiotics daily. We just got him switched to oral meds today. I hope they stay on top of it and that he is able to heal.

Our biggest news of the year is that we are expecting a baby girl in Feburary around Valentines day. Although we were not expecting her we are sure excited for her to get here. We are so blessed to be able to have her come to us. No name yet but we are working on it!

We know the Lord gives us trials and we know they happen for a reason we have had several trials lately and we know we will be stronger as a family in the end. With those trails have come so many many blessings it is hard to see them sometimes and we do get down but I know that we are loved and that the Lord has a plan for us. This year has strenghtend my testemony of our church so much I have seen the blessings that have been shared with us along with the trials that have brought me closer to the church. I have not been very active for many years and I know that the Lord works in mysterious ways, I have had to rely on the Priesthood that my father has and through his father's blessings I have been able to have the strength that I have needed through the trials that we have faced. I know that we will have blessing beyond compare if we can get through the trials of now.

2010 has to be a better year for us and we are so excited to start it out with the blessing of a new child to come.

We wish all of you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND AN AWESOME 2010!

Health Update

Good news first!
I went to see the Doctor today for my 30 1/2 week appointment. Our little girl is doing well. Seems to be growing and doing fine heart rate today 144! Wow cannot believe she will be here soon! I lost weight from my last appointment 1/2 pound so that was good news for me so total weight gain has been 4 1/2 pounds. Love it although I told my doctor if I gained the typical 30 lbs I would be a whale! So I am very greatful for just 4 1/2 pounds. Due to that no belly pics cause most of the time you really cannot tell I am pregnant! Good for me I suppose!

On to Ryan, so he has been fighting the cellulitis now since Tuesday last week so 6 days. Nothing is getting better but seems to be staying the same. He has been getting some big dog IV antibiotics once a day. He is on Invanz and Cubicin. We went into Dr. Packer today he is new to us. I have met him in the hospital and have been impressed with him he reminds me a little of our Dr. in Pocatello Dr. Holmstead. So I made an appointment with him and got Ryan in there. I was fairly impressed with him. He stepped into this situation not really knowing where the starting point was but we came up with a game plan. We will now not have to deal with the ER docs at all Dr. Packer will follow all Ryan's IV treatments and will follow the progress. I am so relieved to have some one to go to for questions. Ryan is trying to finish finals and get by until Chirstmas break hopefully that will give him some much needed R&R. Dr. Packer says we could be looking at another 2 weeks of Daily treatments which means no traveling for the holidays bummer. I just pray that everything works out ok and we will get through this.

On to Ryans mother. She is in Surgery for her kidneys as I write this. We hope all goes okay. I hope that she will be able to get past all these Kidney issues and will be able to focus on other things and feel better.

We are hoping that 2010 brings better health for us and a healthy Baby Girl! Still no name yet but we have discussed a few and are narrowing it down.

Just Another Bump in Our Road

Okay so I have decided that Ryan and I if we have luck at all it is always bad luck we just have no good luck! To give an update we have been doing well. I am working at the hospital and doing my photography! Ryan has been going to school in Pocatello 5 days a week! He has had perfect attendance and is doing amazing in his courses! Well Monday night he got home from school 5 minuets prior to me needing to leave for work, he was limping pretty bad and I asked him what he had done. He said nothing that I know of. I thought bull crap you did something but you just won't tell me. So he showed me his leg and it was extremely swollen and warm to the touch. I just wasn't sure what to think. I said well it is either a torn ligament or maybe you have some cellulitis in it, I didn't think of a blood clot. Well I had to get to work so I told him try to make it through the night and I will get you into someone in the morning. He agreed. Well about Midnight I got a call from him and he was almost in tears because of the pain. I have only seen Ryan cry because of pain one other time and that was when he broke is neck. So I knew he hurt. I was busy when he called and I told him to hold on let me think for a minuet and I will call you back. Well he called me back and told me he was coming into the ER. His sister (bless he heart) came in to stay with the kids. I met him in the ER and stayed until they took him to ultrasound. I went back upstairs and waited to hear what was going on. Well come to find out he did not have a blood clot but rather cellulitis in his leg. They kept him until I was off work and was able to take him home. He now is going in for daily IV antibiotics for I am not sure how long but I hope they do the trick. Poor guy just can't catch a break it is the week before finals and he had to miss school for two days. The doctor told him not to go back until he was released from him but Ryan is going to try to go tomorrow so that he has a shot and doing well on his final. I can't say I blame him to much. I just don't understand why this has to happen to us! I know what I am sounding like but gosh can't we get a break! The Lord has blessed us and I know that but I am trying to see the good that will come out of our 2009 events, It is really hard to see the good right now. Anyway keep Ryan in your prayers and I hope he recovers fast!

Halloween

It's Halloween!!!!!
We had a great time this Halloween. It was nice it was on a Saturday! So Addyson wanted to be a princess for halloween this year and I went to buy her a princess costume and I refused to pay $30 or more for a piece of crap dress so I took her to JoAnn's Fabric sat her down with a pattern book and said pick what princess you want to be and we will get you the stuff and I will sew it. Well after 1 1/2 hours looking at patterns she decided to be a Cheeleader. We had a lot of fun witht his outfit. It turned out great it actually looks like a real cheerleader. I had alot of fun making it too. I might just make more! She decided she wanted to be an Idaho Falls Tiger Cheerleader, gotta get that Tiger spirit in early.
Ethan wanted to be a skeleton. His costume was a lot cuter in my head. I made is too because it is really hard to buy a costume that will fit him. I just go some sweats and did the bones out of felt. It turned out pretty good. I painted the bones with glow in the dark paint also. He really got into scaring people. What a cute little Skeleton.
Well Halloween came and we decided it was worth the drive to Pocatello/Am. Falls to see the fam. We stopped and saw Aunt Meghann first, then went over to Fred Meyer and saw Aunt Cassie, then off to the Maravilla's. It was so nice Raquel and her Boyfriend took the kids Trick or Treating for us. I cannot tell you how nice that was. Ryan and I got to sit and visit for a while it was so wonderful. We are so blessed to have such wonderful family that we can sit around and visit for hours with and not realize a minuet even went by.
After the Maravilla's we headed out to see Mom and Dad. It was about 8:30 already late but we were all ready to party. The kids were so excited to show Grandpa and Grammy their costumes. Dennis and Alicia were out there waiting also and Uncle Mac came out to say hello too. Mom had dinner for us and we stayed and played the longest game of hand and foot ever with Dennis and Alicia. We had such a great time again so thankful for wonderful family. We left and got home about 1:30 in the morning. We were so tired but it was so worth the fun that we had. Thanks everyone for spoiling the children rotten! They LOVE YOU ALL!

A Sister for Ethan and Addyson

It's a Girl
For those who don't know already Ethan and Addyson are gaining a little sister. We are very happy to be getting a girl. Ryan and I really didn't care one way or another but another girl will be an adventure to say the least. Ethan was little disappointed, Addy was very happy. Ethan will be such a good big brother to two little girls. He is blessed with an extreme amount of patients and integrety and I know he was blessed with that for a reason. I can see it know in 15 years he is going to have to very emotional sisters that reek havick in his life and he will be able to calm them down and see the best in them. What lucky children to have each other as siblings! What lucky parents are Ryan and I to have them as our children! We admit we are probably the luckiest parents around. Anyway as for names nothing has been decided yet. We like a few but we are not in a hurry to name her like we were with the other too. She will be here before we know it! Only 15 more weeks to go!

Ethan's 1st day of 1st Grade

Ethan's 1st Day of School

O my goodness I cannot believe he is this old. It has been an adjustment having him gone all day but he is loving school. I have to say it is cake walk having only one child at home.
Ethan goes to Dora Erickson Elementary. It is just down the road from us but due to the busy street and his very paranoid mother he doesn't get to walk alone yet. His teacher this year is Mrs. Nelson, I met her on the 1st day of school and Ryan was impressed with her at back to school night. (I was unable to attend that because of a wedding previously booked)
We are looking forward to what this school year has to bring. We saw so much of a difference last year and I know we will see bigger changes this year.

Our Latest Project!

So I have been in a crafty mood...Been doing stuff here and there and I ran across this picture on a blog that I look at I thought it helped me to announce my latest project. Although this project was a bit unplanned and it took me a while to accept the fact that this project wasn't going to be easy and there was no backing out of it once it had started. After tears for a few weeks I went to the doctor and the little one is big enough you could see it waving at us. How could I have ever cried about such a thing I don't know. The Lord has a way of making his presence known! I know this will be a blessing to our family. I thank the Lord everyday for my children and husband in which I love so much, they are my world and I now cannot wait to have this one in my arms and turning my life upside down and I will love every minuet of it!
Ethan and Addyson are very excited, my first thought is what have we done to them, they are such good friends and siblings what will a third do? But after telling them I am convinced they need another one. Addy wants a girl of course and E-Man wants a boy we have told them Heavenly Father gets to decide that we have and we have nothing to do with it and they seem to accept that we will see when we find out in October.
I will be having this baby sometime in Feburary around the 15th. I might actually convince me to like the month of Feburary.

My 30th Re-Do Birthday Party

Yeah I am 30! I hate it but life will go on! Well I had to work the night before my Birthday and the night of so I really didn't get a chance to celebrate. I had bought me a few shirts and Ryan had gotten me some new mixing bowls and Nice Wooden spoons and spatulas so it was nice but working was a drag. Well Mom and Dad decided they would come up Today (Saturday) and celebrate as Ethan put it, "A Re-do Birthday Party". Mom and Dad got here and it was raining but we decided to BBQ hamburgers despite the rain. Afterwards I opened presents from Mom and Dad, Dad's present you will see below Mom got me a Spatula and Measuring Cups and another kitchen gadget. (FYI I needed new kitchen stuff) well after that Mom told me she and Dad wanted to take me to pick out flowers for one of my flower beds (Thats what I had wanted really bad) I was so excited cause I thought maybe I hadn't dropped enough hints! We went and bought my flowers at Freddy's I am so excited for nice weather so I can plant them. Thanks Mom and Dad you are the best. I loved hanging out with them I only wish they wouldn't have had to go! Thanks for being such awesome Parents and being such great Incredible Grandparents!

After Ryans Accident I vowed I would make sure we had more Family Pictures together.

My Dad's B-Day Present for me on my 30th re-do B-Day

So my Dad is so awesome. If you know my Dad you will know that he is brilliant I hope I have a hair of his smartness some day he amazes me with the knowledge that he has....Also if you know my Dad yuou know that he is cheap. I say that with love cause it is not a trait that I have. Anyway Dad always has his eyes on the good deals at Office Max on cool little toys that only computer geeks would like. Although I do not consider myself as a computer geek, I do tend to have some computer geek traits and I work alot on the computer. So to make a long story short Dad got in on a sale on 8gb Verbatim Flash drives and he got me one for my birthday. (If you want to know I really like the Verbatim brand it is the same brand as my 120 gb external Hard Drive) (See I am kinda a geek) Also along with the Flash Drive he gave me a lanyard so I can wear it around my neck we got a kick out of it and my kids think it is the coolest. And yes my Dad wears his lanyard everyday with not one but usually at least two flash drives on it! I love you Dad thanks for thinking of me i am going to use this one a ton!

My awesome Dad and I for my 30th B-Day

Ethan might just be a geek in the making!

Addy thinks they are cool just cause the resemble a necklace!

Our Cute Little Girl

So Ryan calls Addy a "Wolf in Sheeps Clothing" Anyone that knows her knows how true this is.
I am so proud of her though she knows what she wants and is willing to go for it and doesn't give up! Anyway this particular day Addy was so stinking cute while we were getting ready. Somedays she just glows and this was one of those days plus she was all for wearing capri's so I suggested we run out to the studio and take a few shots we have so much fun when she is in a good mood.

Ethan Turned 6 :(

What this cannot be Ryan and I are parents of a 6 year old. We are much to young for this. Time sure has flown by! We are so lucky to be Ethan's parents! He is such a fun, sensitive, loving, outgoing, thoughtful, amazing, loveable, child I could go on and on. Ethan is such a delight he finishes Kindergarten next week he is getting all grown up on us. We sure love him more everyday! He loves to play video games, ride on his scooter in which he named, Scoots Picatchu Hanson! Love It! He loves his sister and would do anything to protect her!

Our 6 Year Old

Our 1st Drive In as a Family

About a month prior to Ethans birthday he had discovered that th Night at the Musuem 2 was coming to theaters the day of his birthday and had asked if maybe we could go to that on his birthday. Ryan and I had said yes because we still had a 2 free movie passes that the hospital had given me for Chirstmas so we would only have to pay for him and Addy would get in free, so we thought what an awesome, fun, cheap activity to do that would thrill him. Well after Ryan wrecked I knew that Theater seating was not an option I wasn't sure what we were going to do cause I didn't want to break Ethan's heart and didn't want to go by my self with the 2 kids. Well I happened to drive by the Drive in and guess what was playing YIPPPEEEEE! Well we had Mom's car because mine broke down (I won't go there) But her car is a lot bigger and was pretty comfortable for Ryan. We so enjoyed going the kids were so excited it is amazing how little things in life can amaze children. I am so grateful for the 2 wonderful children I have Ryan and I are very blessed!

Ethan missing 2 teeth

So while I was busy with getting things done for Ryan post accident Ethan comes up to me and says "Momma I think I am going to loose a tooth" I said, "O yeah do you have one loose?" He responded, "No but look," Sure enough no loose tooth but sure as heck he had a new one growing behind. Well I just couldn't mentally accept a trip to the dentist that day so I decided to put it off for a while after making sure it was okay with my bro-in-law that is a dental hygentist. But as soon as my mental capasity could fit it in I took him in sure enough They pulled two teeth. He wasn't very happy! We came home put the teeth in a glass bottle with water and sure enough the next day the water was blue and Ethan had $2.50 for the two teeth! I cannot believe he is growing up soooooo fast!

This was a few days later

This was right after the Dentist Visit

Kick Me Sign

So My Mom and Dad had the kids the entire weekend of Ryans accident (Thanks Mom Dad and Mac) Well if you know Ethan he is a little sponge I love him but sometimes he is just alittle too cleaver. Well some how he came up with the Idea of a kick me sign to put on Addy's back, well when he sat down to write it out he discovered that he wasn't sure how to spell "kick me". Instead of asking he decided to draw it. I had heard about this sign that he put on Addys back but hadn't seen it until my brother Mac emailed me a picture of it. I am not sure who will end up with the sign whether it be me or mom but I think it might just derserve to be framed for life! I love you Ethan but try to be nicer to sis!

Ryans Accident

O my goodness what a week.........
So here is the story of Ryan's accident
Thursday night May 7, Ryan got a phone call from his Mom saying that she had to have surgery the next morning due to kidney trouble. A surgery for Mom Hanson is a huge deal she is not in great health anyway and any kind of big or small is a huge deal and a great risk. Ryan and I felt it was important for him to go down to Logan and be there for her. Orrin his younger brother from Boise and his wife were also going to be there. Anyway off Ryan went all went well with her surgery and Ryan and I talked about whether he was going to go to Bear Lake to make sure she was okay for the night or if he was going to come home. I had to work that night so I arranged for my Mother to take the kids to her house for the night and I was going to meet her in Blackfoot and trade them. Ryan never called me to tell me what is definate plans were so I stuck with mine with the attititude that he could pick them up that night on his way through or we could go down the next afternoon and pick them up.
Well the kids and I got all ready for them to have their sleep over with Grandma Harris. They were so sooooo excited. We went to Blackfoot and met my mom and 5:10 in the Ridleys parking lot. I got out got the kids settled all in the mean time my phone was sitting on the seat of my car. We said our goodbyes and I got in the car. My Mom sat in her parking spot for a minuet and I actually looked at my phone to get the time but had missed two calls form a number I didn't know. I usually would wait to check the message until later but for some reason I checked it right then. It was a lady that was telling me that there was a truck overturned in Emigration canyon and the Gentleman inside gave her my number. I knew it was Ryan.......Mom and I were both leaving the parking lot by then and I just started honking. She got out I parked my car I told her about the message. She calmed me down I called into work and I jumped in her car. Mac had come with her so I got in the back seat between the two kids. The lady said she thought he would be taken to Preston hospital so I remembered Ryan saying that he though Orrin and Sara were going to stay in Logan before going back to Boise so I called him first #1 they were the closest and Orrin is a Paramedic in Ada county and he knows alot about these kinds of things, anyway they were at the interchange to either go to Preston or head to Boise and they detored and went to Preston. In the mean time the lady called me againa nd said she thought he might be going to Bear Lake beings she saw Bear Lake responders. So I called Ryan's Moms house to tell them what was going on when his Older brother Mike happened to be there. I told him what was happening and he told me he would call his sis-in-law that is a nurse at Bear Lake Memorial. He called me back and told me that they were expecting a victim from a one-car-rollover in emigation canyon . By then Mom and I were at McCammon. So we just kept driving. We got there and Ryan was in the ER all of his family was around him and I walked in. I remember looking at him not knowing what to expect. He broke down and I just kissed his cheek. Held his hand. I remeber Orrin coming and putting his arm around me and I lost it. Orrin and I have a great relationship as a Brother and Sister in-law. We get along really well and understand each other. Orrin can tell what I am thinking before I really know. I was so grateful to have him there. I also had his older brother Mike that is amazing in situations like this. He is the oldest brother and Ryan is extremely close to him also. It was such a comfort having those two big Hanson boys there it seemed almost like they were Ryan and my protection that night.
Anyway we found out while in Bear Lake that Ryan had a broken neck. He broke it in two spots. By this time it was almost 9:30 we talked about transporting him to EIRMC that night but I decided his pain was now under control and what would EIRMC do tonight anyway. I wanted everyone to be able to sleep including Ryan. We got his stableized and into a room by about 10:00. They gave us a double room that night it was so nice to have a bed although I didn't sleep much. Kristy (my Mike's sis-in-law) stayed way beyond her shift to make sure Ryan got settled she was amazing to him. After he got into his room I asked him if he would like a blessing I remeber telling him he needed one, Mike was still there and Ryan agreed to have one. Mike got his brother in law Ryan to come over and they gave him a blessing. I remeber at that moment I knew that he was going to be okay.
The next morning Ryan was transported to EIRMC via ambulance. Orrin rode with him while Sara and I followed in her car. About 5 pm Ryan was Admitted to EIRMC for observation. He started to stand up and walk alittle and started to look tons better. Sweet Orrin sent me home that night so I could get a goodnights rest and he stayed with Ryan. Sara and I came home and got back to the hospital bright and early the next day. We brought Ryan home that evening. Sara and Orrin stayed until the next day. I think Orrin would have stayed forever if he could have! They were such big help with the kids and helping make phone calls and taking me here and there.
So here we stand. Dr. Cach says he will be in the neck brace for 12 weeks. We are still waiting on whether or not he will need surgery. Dr. Redd says he wished Ryan would have doen a better job at breaking his wrist because it could have been fixed but he just broke a chunck of bone out and the ligiment damage is far worse than the break. It will take time to heal. As for Ryan's career as a capenter it is unclear.
We can only take this day by day. We are blessed to have the wonderful family we do for the help his brothers and sister-inlaws were that night. For the wonderful Messerly famliy that dropped everything to help. For my parents to take the children all week and there continued help they help us so much they will never know how much we love them. So many blessings will come out of this I know they will. I am so thankful to have my husband here with me today.

So here are a few pics taken just the other day Ryan was able to hold Miss Addyson and Rock her to sleep for the 1st time since the accident. I know he was hurting while this little girl sat on his lap but I don't think any amount of pain would have stopped him from holding her that night. She needed him and he needed her!

Addy's Skirt

So I ran across a tutorial on the internet on how to make this skirt. The tutorial was for an adult size and I so wanted to make me one but I have a hard time ripping up my pants for an experiment. Well I decided that I would try it for Addy and because she HATES pants she has a few that are barely worn that are getting to be high waters on her any way so I decided to use those and it would give her yet another skirt. It turned out way cute I love it. We did have an issue because it was Sunday and I wanted her to wear it to church #1 because I had stayed up late last night sewing it #2 I was not going to wait another day for her to wear it, because I am impatient! #3 It was snowing outside and I thought it would be warmer on her legs. #3 really didn't have as much impact on my wanting her to wear it as much as reason #1 and #2. Anyway she refused threw herself on the floor telling me she was not going to wear it she wanted a dress and she didn't want this skirt because it was made out of pants "MOM I HATE PANTS AND THIS SKIRT IS MADE OUT OF PANTS!".......Imagine my frustration!!!!!! So being the smart and cleaver Mom I am I told her that if she wore a dress she would have a pocket to carry her lip gloss. To my suprise it WORKED she wore the skirt had a lip gloss in each pocket and Mom and Daughter were happy going to church!

Spa Night

We Had spa night the other night after playing really hard all day long...It was clean out the garage day and we were all tired the only one who didn't get his feet wet was Ryan I guess he is just too much of a man! :)
Addy's toenails after we were finished she is so girly

Ethan loves when I get my foot soaker out!
